A shift outlasts the opening hours of the canteen. At four in the morning, coffee from the machine in the staff room is not a luxury, it is the plan. A machine for medical facility staff has one job: to be where staff take their break, and to get in the way of nothing else.

Alnos Vending has a separate page for medical facilities. This guide turns it into the practical questions of the person who has to find a spot for the machine.

Three areas, one rule

The machine can stand in three kinds of place, always inside the building:

  • staff areas, where visitors do not go,
  • staff rooms, where staff take their break,
  • waiting rooms, where visitors and companions wait.

The spot is agreed with the facility and written into the contract. We say nothing here about patient care, because the machine has nothing to do with it. Its job is coffee, water or a snack.

A machine for staff and visitors: one or two

In a staff room the coffee machine AV-TCN-NCF-7N can work well: coffee from freshly ground beans and drinks from soluble products. In a waiting room the snack machine AV-TCN-CSC-8C, with snacks and bottled drinks, may suit better, or the vending cooler AV-AF-CFZ-510 with water and drinks.

These are not fixed pairings. A facility can have one machine in a spot everyone can reach, or separate ones for staff and visitors. We choose the set together. How coffee from the machine works, from the choice to the lid, is in the guide on a cup, a lid and about a minute.

No energy drinks

In machines for medical facilities we do not offer energy drinks. That is on the medical facilities page. In practice it applies to every Alnos Vending machine: there are no energy drinks, tobacco or nicotine products in the mix anywhere.

We tailor the rest of the range to the site. Coffee, water, juices, snacks, and food in the cooler as well if the facility wants it. We name no brands.

Walkways and corridors

In a medical facility, a corridor is a route someone may need for a bed or a wheelchair. The machine must not narrow the walkway or stand on an escape route. That is why a waiting room, or an alcove next to it, beats the middle of a corridor.

In a waiting room, think too about people who wait a long time, for example with a child or with an older relative who should not walk far. A machine close to the seats is handier than one round the corner, as long as it does not block the walkway or a consulting-room door. We agree the spot with the facility either way and write it into the contract.

It needs a separate earthed 230 V socket and mobile signal or Wi-Fi. For the coffee machine we also agree the water supply: bottles inside the machine or a mains line. The cooler needs a dry, ventilated room, with no sun or radiator next to it.

Who looks after it

Alnos Vending provides installation, refilling and service under the contract. Staff do not refill the machine or change the water. Every machine carries a Polish label with +48 84 300 10 10 and hello@alnosvending.pl, so a problem can be reported without hunting down the facilities manager.

Payment is cashless; we confirm the details when we set the machine up. There is no coin slot and no note reader. After installation, only Alnos Vending moves the machine. The deposit on bottles and cans is shown separately from the product price.

Nights, weekends and holidays

The canteen has opening hours. A machine in the staff room has one condition: someone has to be able to get into the room. If staff can reach the area at night and at weekends, the machine is there with them. If the room is locked after hours, the machine is behind that door too.

So when choosing the spot, ask not only “where” but also “who goes in, and when”. A waiting room locked in the evening is a different case from the staff room of a ward that runs around the clock.

Cleanliness is Alnos Vending’s side

In a medical facility, cleanliness is the topic by definition. With the coffee machine, Alnos Vending empties the grounds and waste-water containers, and Alnos Vending staff clean the brewer and the mixers. The facility’s staff do not need to look inside the machine and should not.

If you spot a spilt drink or anything that raises doubts, report it on the number on the label. Alnos Vending service takes it from there, within the scope written into the contract.

Before the next shift

We work in Zamość, Lublin and Rzeszów, and our office is in Zamość. Describe the facility and the spots you are considering: hello@alnosvending.pl, +48 84 300 10 10, or a Golden Ticket, the machine enquiry form. At four in the morning the coffee will be needed anyway. Better to have it close by.
