A Machine in a Hotel: In the Shared Area, Inside the Building

Three Alnos Vending machines side by side: a vending cooler with a glass door, a coffee machine with a 22″ screen and a snack machine with a 49″ touchscreen. Illustrative render.

A guest comes back to the hotel after a dinner that turned out too small, or off a train that arrived too late. The room has a kettle and two tea bags, one of them camomile. A machine in the hotel answers the question “is there anything else around here?” without a chat at the front desk.

On the Places page, hotels get one sentence: a machine in the shared area of the hotel, inside the building. Here is what that means in practice.

The shared area, and where exactly

A shared area is somewhere a guest can reach without a key to someone else’s room:

  • the lobby or the area by reception,
  • the corridor by the lifts on a floor,
  • a lounge area, if guests can use it all day.

Each of these is inside the building, and that is the condition. Alnos Vending machines do not stand outdoors, not even under the canopy by the entrance or on a terrace.

A machine in a hotel: the three models, hotel edition

The coffee machine AV-TCN-NCF-7N makes coffee from freshly ground beans and drinks from soluble products, in a cup with a lid that can travel up to the room. The snack machine AV-TCN-CSC-8C holds snacks and bottled drinks. Drinks and food, such as sandwiches and salads, can go in the vending cooler AV-AF-CFZ-510.

A hotel does not need all three. A small property can start with one. How to combine the models is in the guide on our three vending machines.

Guests from abroad and the screen

The coffee machine has a 22″ touchscreen and the snack machine a 49″ one. Both run in Polish and in English. A guest who does not speak Polish does not have to guess what a button means. More on the screen itself is in the guide on the 22-inch screen.

Payment is cashless; we confirm the details when we set the machine up. There is no coin slot and no note reader, so nobody has to dig for złoty coins in a jacket pocket.

What the hotel provides and what Alnos Vending does

The hotel provides a spot inside the building and a separate earthed 230 V socket. For the coffee machine we also agree the water supply: bottles inside the machine or a mains line. Mobile signal or Wi-Fi is needed too.

If the hotel has several floors, one machine in the lobby may be enough to start. A second one by the lifts upstairs makes sense when guests will really use it. We settle that in a conversation about the property, not from a table. The hotel knows its guests better than we do. The label with the contact details is in Polish, so reception can help guests from abroad read it.

Alnos Vending provides installation, refilling and service. The scope is in the contract. Reception staff do not refill the machine. Every machine carries a Polish label with +48 84 300 10 10 and hello@alnosvending.pl, so guests or reception know where to report a problem.

The lobby is an interior too

A machine in the lobby becomes part of the decor, like it or not. That is why we pick a spot where it does not stand in the way to the lifts or by an emergency exit. The cooler needs a dry, ventilated spot with no sun or radiator next to it, so the south-facing glass wall is out.

After installation, only Alnos Vending moves the machine. If the lobby is due for a renovation or a new layout, tell us early.

We tailor the range to the site. We name no brands and do not offer energy drinks. The deposit on bottles and cans is shown separately from the product price.

Two in the morning

A hotel does not close for the night, but its shared areas sometimes do: a room under lock and key, a lounge shut after 10 p.m. The machine is available for as long as the place it stands in is. If you want the guest off the late train to find something, the lobby or the corridor by the lifts is a safer bet than a room someone locks at night.

Three answers for reception

Reception will hear questions about the machine anyway. Three short answers cover it:

  • “How do I pay?” Cashless. The machine does not take coins.
  • “Why is the total more than the price?” Because the deposit on bottles and cans is shown separately from the product price.
  • “The machine did not give me my drink.” The number is on the label on the machine: +48 84 300 10 10.

Reception does not have to fix or open anything. It is enough to know where the label is, rather than sending the guest to a shop across town.

Before a guest knocks at reception

We work in Zamość, Lublin and Rzeszów. Describe the shared area and who uses it: hello@alnosvending.pl, +48 84 300 10 10, or a Golden Ticket, the machine enquiry form, not a prize draw for a free night. One form, one conversation. The camomile can stay in the room for emergencies.
